I'm going to open a flight search, select London as my departure point, leave the destination completely blank, and book the cheapest international flight I can find. I don't get to skip somewhere because I've already been there or because it looks boring. Wherever the cheapest ticket takes me, that's where I'm going. Once I land, I'll have 24 hours to find out whether letting a cheap flight choose your holiday is actually a terrible idea... or one of the best ways to travel.

I like this because the destination reveal gives you a built-in hook before the trip even starts. I’d probably define “cheapest flight” a bit more clearly though — same-day, next weekend, or anywhere in the next month could give completely different results. Also, I’d definitely include the real door-to-door cost. A £15 flight can suddenly become £60 once you add the train to Stansted, baggage and airport transport at the other end, and that could end up being one of the most interesting parts of the video.

I think the 24-hour limit is what gives this more shape than a normal cheap-flight video. I’d probably start the clock from landing rather than from leaving London though, otherwise a bad flight time could eat half the challenge before you even arrive. Also, I’d avoid researching the destination too much after booking. Watching you figure out what to do once you’re there is probably where a lot of the fun will come from.

The loophole is what counts as the cheapest valid flight. I would put the rules on screen before searching: - a fixed departure window - a minimum number of usable hours at the destination - no self-transfer - fare plus unavoidable airport transport and baggage That definition prevents a £12 ticket with a £50 transfer or impossible schedule from quietly becoming the winner.
